Vote for Executive Inn & Suites – Best of Oakland

We’re honored to be a finalist for Best Hotel in Oakland Magazine’s annual reader poll! If you’ve enjoyed your stay with us, we’d love your vote.

While our category is under Leisure & Lifestyle, we got a bit stuck looking at all of the great options under food. So happy that Horn and Stay Gold made the finals for Best Barbecue Joint, but we've been too lazy to stand in line at Fikscue in Alameda. However, we're told it's worth the wait. Sad Worlds Faire Donuts didn't make the finals, but WOW Donut Petit - they are a life-changing donut. On the brunch side, so many great choices, but we love Kitchen Story, which has millionaire's bacon (but doesn't cost that much), and on the Caribbean side of things, Sobre Mesa is a favorite of ours! Ice cream-wise, to us, it's a Samson vs. Goliath - could Curbside Creamy come out on top versus famous and delicious Fenton's? So much to vote for and so much to try!

Wine Closer to Home: Dashe & Rosenblum in Alameda

You don’t have to go all the way to wine country for a great tasting experience. Just across the bridge in Alameda for Dashe Cellars or right here in Oakland for Resenblum Cellars (at Jack London Square), you’ll find two waterfront wineries offering flights, bottles, and views:

  • Dashe Cellars – Known for bold reds and a relaxed, urban tasting room
  • Rosenblum Cellars – A longtime local favorite, now part of the larger California wine scene

Details:

  • Walkable area with other food & drink spots nearby
  • Beautiful bay views and casual picnic seating
  • Tastings range from $10–$20
