From Friday, August 28 through Sunday, August 30, 2026, San Francisco hosts the 2026 Pokémon World Championships — the capstone of the competitive Pokémon season, and this year a milestone marking Pokémon's 30th anniversary. Trainers who spent the season earning Championship Points from regions around the world converge on Moscone Center to battle for world titles across the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Video Game Championships, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE, with the competitive debut of Pokémon Champions on the main stage. Running alongside it is PokémonXP, the first official Pokémon fan convention of its kind, bringing panels, workshops, performances, special guests, cosplay, and a Pokémon Center pop-up store to the same halls. For the first time ever, Championship Sunday moves across town to Chase Center for the Grand Finals. Organizers expect more than 50,000 people across the weekend.

Both Worlds venues sit in San Francisco, about 15 miles across the bay from our hotels. With 50,000-plus attendees and street closures expected around SoMa, the smart move is to leave the car at the hotel and take transit.

Getting There
- To Moscone Center (747 Howard St) — BART into San Francisco, exit at Powell St or Montgomery St Station, then a short walk into SoMa.
- To Chase Center (1 Warriors Way) — BART to Montgomery St, then Muni Metro's T-Third line into Mission Bay. Championship Sunday only.
- Ferry — The San Francisco Bay Ferry from nearby Jack London Square drops you at the SF Ferry Building, a scenic arrival with an easy Muni connection.
- Driving — Roughly 20–30 minutes across the Bay Bridge without traffic, but downtown parking is limited and expensive during a major event.

"The room was exceptionally large, quite, clean and accommodating and had great amenities. It was a Fabulous Getaway with a view of the water and a terrace and very convenient to restaurants and nightlife at Jack London Square. Excellent staff as well.
The staff was very helpful and went above and beyond to comply with all of our requests. Their shuttle drove us to and from local restaurants and night clubs. Their complimentary breakfast buffet was wonderful. We extended our stay another night but wished we could have stayed longer."

"We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and we loved it so much. We had a junior suite and it was adorable large spacious with a lovely and so enchanting bathroom; the bed was comfy and everything it was perfect the room was very very clean and it's the really really important!
The breakfast was very good and there was a free coffee, hot chocolate for all day in our building and we appreciated a lot. We choose this hotel for visiting San Francisco and we think it's a great idea because: it's most convenience than San Francisco's hotel you can reach San Francisco in 10 minutes by car. Parking and breakfast is free and it's very cheap but very very nice hotel. We love this hotel!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My wife and I recently stayed for 3 nights in a King Water Front Suite. The place was beautiful and clean. The breakfast was outstanding. The fancy coffee machine was great and better than Starbucks.
I can't say enough about the convenience of their shuttle. It takes you all over or to other transportation access. We had no need to rent a car. We took the shuttle to the Ferry to San Francisco and took the shuttle to BART to go to the Raider-Charger game. We even got a tour of Lake Merritt and downtown Oakland with the Director of Sales while he was driving us in the shuttle. They picked us up from Amtrak at 10 PM the night we arrived before we had even checked in and took us back to Amtrak after we checked out.
The Waterfront was quiet and relaxing while we weren't out running around. There was only one restaurant within walking distance, but with the shuttle that didn't matter. The staff was all very friendly and helpful and were very knowledgeable about the BART and Ferry schedule, etc. We were very pleased and have put this hotel in our list of contacts in case we need to stay in Oakland again in the future."
