Moscone Center — 747 Howard St, San Francisco, CA 94103
Chase Center (Championship Sunday) — 1 Warriors Way, San Francisco, CA 94158
From Friday, August 28 through Sunday, August 30, 2026, San Francisco hosts the 2026 Pokémon World Championships — the capstone of the competitive Pokémon season, and this year a milestone marking Pokémon's 30th anniversary. Trainers who spent the season earning Championship Points from regions around the world converge on Moscone Center to battle for world titles across the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Video Game Championships, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE, with the competitive debut of Pokémon Champions on the main stage. Running alongside it is PokémonXP, the first official Pokémon fan convention of its kind, bringing panels, workshops, performances, special guests, cosplay, and a Pokémon Center pop-up store to the same halls. For the first time ever, Championship Sunday moves across town to Chase Center for the Grand Finals. Organizers expect more than 50,000 people across the weekend.
An important note for planning: entry badges for both the World Championships and PokémonXP are sold out, and a Sunday Moscone pass is not the same as arena access for the Chase Center finals — check your confirmation for exactly what your pass includes. Competition streams are also broadcast for fans following along from outside the halls.
Both Worlds venues sit in San Francisco, about 15 miles across the bay from our hotels. With 50,000-plus attendees and street closures expected around SoMa, the smart move is to leave the car at the hotel and take transit.
Back on the Oakland side, Jack London Square is minutes from both hotels: waterfront restaurants, Yoshi's for live music, a beer garden with bowling, and the Bay Trail along the estuary — a relaxed way to decompress after a long day of battles.
Executive Inn & Suites and Best Western Plus Bayside Hotel are two waterfront Oakland hotels on Embarcadero Cove, just across the bay from Moscone Center. With more than 50,000 people expected in San Francisco that weekend, staying in Oakland is a smart way to find a comfortable room at a better value — with parking at just $17 per night, free breakfast, and easy BART access to both venues.

Entry badges for both the World Championships and PokémonXP are sold out, and you can't enter Moscone Center without one. Keep an eye on the official site for any updates, and note that matches are streamed for fans following along. Also worth knowing: a Sunday Moscone pass is not the same as arena access for the Chase Center finals.
Both venues are an easy trip across the bay. Take BART into San Francisco and exit at Powell St or Montgomery St for Moscone (a short walk through SoMa), or connect to Muni Metro's T-Third line for Chase Center in Mission Bay. The San Francisco Bay Ferry from nearby Jack London Square is a scenic alternative. With street closures and heavy demand expected around SoMa, transit beats driving.

"My husband and I stayed here many of times when we first started dating. This was my first time here since renovation. The hotel looks really beautiful. I love the décor in the rooms and lobby. the only thing I was not happy about was the shower head. No good pressure at all."
"We've stayed at this hotel by the water for a number of years. It seems to be getting better. Good quality, terrific value for its location and amenities. Lovely setting. Comes with breakfast and free newspaper with in-room coffee. Solid mattress. Large comfortable lobby. Really - you can't beat this place. Oh! And airport pick up, no less!"
"Beautiful, large room with lovely estuary view & comfy bed. Slept so well, we did not get up in time for the breakfast at 10am. The hotel shuttle drove us to & from the gorgeous Jack London Square restaurants & shops. Beautiful lobby & reception areas. Our NYE party waiters were attentive to every request & need in addition to a dance floor with surrounding tables and comfortable seating. The delicious desserts added to our fabulous evening of Joannie Brant & The Nob Hill Knights music."
