1. Old Oakland Farmers’ Market

​This year round Farmers' Market takes place every Friday from 8am to 2pm on 9th street between Broadway and Clay streets!   This Farmers' Market has brought local, organic produce to the East Bay for over 20 years.  Run by the Urban Village Farmers' Market Association, it prides itself on being the most diverse, affordable, and accessible Farmers' Market in Oakland. Take the BART train over and feast your eyes on the beautiful array of colors the different fruits and vegetables on offer from multiple produce stands. It’s a great opportunity to buy lunch from one of many popular food trucks, and browse vendors offering jewelry, clothing, and other local crafts!

2. Grand Lake Farmers' Market

​Busy on Fridays? No problem, head over to the Oakland-Grand Lake Market on every single Saturday, rain or shine! It’s open from 10am-2pm.  Here, Splash Pad Park, in front of the historic Grand Lake Theater, is transformed into a bustling marketplace where over 40 local farmers' offering up their fresh produce. There are also over 30 specialty food purveyors, and local artisans selling everything from breads to hand-made soaps. The best part? It’s right around the corner from beautiful Lake Merritt. Shall we plan a trip to the Farmers' Market next Saturday morning, and then have a lunch picnic by the lake with our delicious finds

3. Jack London Square Farmers’ Market  

​And maybe you can’t make the Saturday Farmers' Market at Oakland-Grand Lake? Again, no problem! Head over to Jack London Square for Sunday’s Farmers' Market! It’s 10am-3pm. This one is put on by CUESA (the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture). And not only can you buy produce from over 40 local vendors, you can also join in their education programs such as cooking demos and herb tastings. Don’t miss the Summer Jams on July 15th! If you enjoy a sea breeze, this is the market for you! Right on the Oakland estuary, you can browse all the agriculture and wares with a cool, salty breeze blowing in from the waterfront. What a pleasure!
